Hold My Hand

by: Paulina

I don't know you very well, been awhile since we met.
Yet you treat me as if you've known me for years,
and already we've done things that we regret,
if you say you care, won't you pull me from my fears?
Hold my hand, and just lead me anywhere,
I don't care where we go, just as long as I'm free,
as long as I'm out, you can count on me being there,
I'm tired of my conscience always pushing at me.
Your actions confuse me, sometimes I don't know what they're for,
I cannot recall the last time things were clear,
but despite of this, we only talk more,
and it's a miracle how this happens to be sincere.
Hold my hand, and take me out from inside,
lift yourself from the ground and run along,
maybe then sometime, we will randomly collide,
it may seem that with me, things can't go wrong.
Sometimes I doubt you. Do you do the same?
Sometimes I do things blindly for no reason,
sometimes I think it would be better if you forgot my name,
then I wouldn't be well known for this season.
Yet you still held my hand without even thinking,
I don't seem to mind; I do not withdraw,
if you can stare without hesitation and blinking,
then I sense that you have in you what I saw.
